The Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST), with the support of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi, and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, is celebrating National Science Day 2026 on 3 March 2026.

The theme for National Science Day 2026 is "Adoption of Local Technologies for a Sustainable Future and Global Security" ("ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಭದ್ರತೆಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಅಳವಡಿಕೆ").

The National Science Day 2026 celebration will be organized by KSCST on 3 March 2026 at CSIC - Prof. Satish Dhawan Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, for the benefit of high school students. Around 350 students from BBMP, Government and Government-aided high schools in and around Bengaluru are expected to participate.

As a pre-event activity of NSD-2026, KSCST is also conducting the following competition:
