National Science Day Celebration
- 2026
The Karnataka State Council for Science and
Technology (KSCST), with the support of Department of Science and Technology, Government of
India, New Delhi, and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of
Karnataka, is celebrating National Science Day 2026 on
3 March 2026.
The theme for National Science Day 2026 is
"Adoption of Local Technologies for a Sustainable Future and
Global Security" ("ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಭದ್ರತೆಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ
ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಅಳವಡಿಕೆ").
The National Science Day 2026 celebration will be organized by KSCST on 3 March 2026 at
CSIC - Prof. Satish Dhawan Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, for the
benefit of high school students. Around 350 students from
BBMP, Government and Government-aided high schools in and
around Bengaluru are expected to participate.
As a pre-event activity of NSD-2026, KSCST is
also conducting the following competition:
On-the-spot Painting Competition
An on-the-spot science painting competition will be organized by KSCST on
21 February 2026 at 9:30 a.m. on the lawn opposite the Main Building,
Indian Institute of Science. High school students (Classes 8, 9, and 10)
from BBMP, Government, and Government-aided schools in and around
Bengaluru will participate.

high school students from BBMP and Government High Schools in and around
Bengaluru (class 8, 9,
and 10) will be participating.
The competition aims to enhance creative thinking and encourage students
to visualize the theme, "Adoption of Local Technologies for a
Sustainable Future and Global Security" ("ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ
ಭದ್ರತೆಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಅಳವಡಿಕೆ").
Students will be
given 120 minutes to complete their paintings on drawing sheets provided
by KSCST at the venue. The submitted paintings will be adjudged by a panel
of experts.
To generate curiosity, foster a spirit of inquiry, and
inculcate scientific temperament among students, several activities are
being organized for high school students across Karnataka.
